Neil Young’s Archives Vol. III includes recordings that show the unheralded sweep of Young's efforts from the 1976-1987 period of his journey. It is one of the most extensive anthologies in his recorded history. In addition to the 17CD box set, a double vinyl LP-only set titled Takes. Takes is a 16-track compilation featuring one track from 16 out of the 17 CDs in the Archives Vol. III Box Set. This collection includes three unreleased songs and 12 previously unreleased versions and will be the only vinyl edition to feature these songs.
The Neil Young Archives series has been something like a living musical museum that can be visited in a personal way, curated by the person who actually created all of the music and films.
